This is the place to comfort the spirits of all war dead regardless of what they were or what they did. Many Shinto shrines are dedicated to those who died unpeacefully or unwillingly such as in accident, crime, war, rebellion, or execution. Some of them were evil when they were alive. These shrines are intended to suppress the evil to cause the disaster again. The dead are no longer subject to the hatred in Shinto.
