Yakitori and more in Shinjuku Japan | Tokyo

UPDATE!!! I have heard that this street will be demolished to make way for a new Mall. Very sad! Hurry and enjoy this place before its gone forever! If you have info about the construction plans and demolition please leave a comment! Thanks. After a day in Shunjuku I ended up at a family friend's place on Omoide Yokocho St. 5th bar on the left after you enter from the end of the street shown in the video. It's right next to Shinjuku Station.... ask anybody they will know the street, it is famous!!!! The place featured in the video is called the FUKUHACHI BAR AND GRILL! This street has been featured in many documentaries an travel shows so its a must see for any fan of Japanese food and night life. Take your pick of the many quaint little bars, cause you can't go wrong here! Don't be shy just walk up and smile they will all welcome you. MAP here! http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=shijuku&aq=&sll=35.599392,139.670906&sspn=0.062811,0.168056&ie=UTF8&ll=35.692844,139.699598&spn=0.00042,0.002626&z=19&layer=c&cbll=35.692844,139.699595&cbp=11,179.03,,0,-48.78&photoid=po-5759397 MAKE sure you see the little red sign FUKUHACHI beware the Chinese places!!! service is bad and the food sucks! I am now boycotting the Chinese mafia shops. The yakitori bar is a place to chill a and experience JAPANESE hospitality. The Chinese slop shops all have the same food stored in a big freezer so variety and quality is being wiped out. The same family is buying all the shops out and ruining the street. GO TO A JAPANESE SHOP THERE!

I love you videos. I found this place but was a little disappointed. Mind you, it was 2014 and maybe things had changed. Now it is quite touristy, a little overpriced, average quality food, and the shops are owned/operated by foreigners which is totally fine but takes away from any traditionally authentic Japanese feel. Thanks for your vids though, again, I find them very enjoyable.

These small places, Grand PoP's run counter eateries are the best,- for original culture food, atmosphere , You see the food, it is fresh and made to order for you at the time,-non waiting food. Supper. TH

この辺一画は都心とは思えない程えらく郷愁を感じさせる佇まいですね。
-
What i find strange is it looks like they all are making the same kind of food and they are all very close to one another. It must be the yakitori district.
