the only equal I am aware of is Gulf War One in form...although that was nothing compared to Tokyo Bay 1945. The Air Armada that flew over is truly one for all time. Probably the only good post World War 2 diplomacy as well. Europe was...and still is...a complete failure. Our lack of understanding History period...let alone our own...has cost the United States dearly these last few years.
