334 Boeing Superfortresses Raided Tokyo.., on the night of March 9, 1945. 6 Pathfinders dropped 180 x 70 Pound Napalm-Filled Incendiaries, from each Aircraft, & the others all dropped 24 x 500 Pound Clusters of 6-Pound Oil Bombs...; from each B-29. 15.8 Square Miles of the city were burnt out, 40,818 people were wounded, and more than a million people were rendered homeless... It took 25 days to remove the 83,793 Corpses from the City. And, yet, with straight faces, the AmeriKans solemnly tell each other that "the Boston Bombers were guilty of using 'Weapons Of Mass Destruction', because they filled a pair of 10-Pound Aluminium Pressure-Cookers with Home-Made Explosives, and set them off in a public place...!". It's remarkable how some people are prepared to believe their own Propaganda, in their efforts to paint themselves as being "purer than the driven-snow" while portraying whomsoever dares to oppose them as being wicked evil murderous Barbarians. "Terrorists", aka "Terrorfliegeren", ie "Terror Flyers" is the term invented by Joseph Goebbels invented to apply to the Royal Air Force Bomber-Command Aircrews, when they began Firebombing German Cities in 1942..; after the RAF found that they could only get 5% of Bombs within 10 Miles of any designated Precision Targets, when Bombers flew individually at night, whereas in a concentrated Stream, following Pathfinders at night, 90% of Bombs would land somewhere "on the target" as long as the whole City was designated as being "The Target AREA..." Hence, "Area-Bombing...". Quod Errat Demonstrandum..!

Have a related bomber crew in the family heirloom. A big piece of shit is what it was, and retired after millions of dollars spent.
What little time I spent in any cockpit was a c-141. Cruising 30000+ wasn't the worst flight I ever had and not being a pilot, I never enjoyed being in the soup at any altitude, not ever. And I can rather easily recall the times I have been, which seem to surprise me as its not the sort of thing I hope to recall. Flying low through smoke is not much more fun. But the visibility was still better than a sandstorm howling around a small box with one human in it :P
Like stealing out through a window at night into the dark is fun, it's all fun and games until sunshine gets hurt.

was this more destructive than the post japan surrender bombing? the one where leaflets were dropped saying thecwar is over?. particularly obscene i think regardless of lives lost. and btw.....i think thats a flying fortress hanging on the string?
