The CDPHP® Workforce Team Challenge is the Capital Region's workforce team run and walk — and the largest annual road race between Utica and New York City attracting more than 7,500 runners and walkers, representing nearly 450 organizations. Since 1980, thousands have gathered one spring evening after work in historic downtown Albany for this classic 3.5-mile road race. From the CEO to the most recent hire, they come as colleagues and co-workers and friends, forming teams that represent every enterprise in the Capital Region, including emerging nanotechs, established blue-chips, school districts, colleges, hospitals, banks, law firms, government agencies, and non-profits. Running and walking, shoulder to shoulder, they navigate the historic Albany streets, weaving through Washington Park — the crown jewel of Albany — before heading to a breathtaking downhill finish at the NYS Museum. After the race, music fills the air as participants gather at the Empire State Plaza to enjoy refreshments, pick up their T-shirts, swap stories with their colleagues, and await the awards.
