Watch Design, Kisai Vortex Touch Screen Watch from Tokyoflash Japan | Tokyo

Kisai Vortex is available exclusively from Tokyoflash Japan: http://www.tokyoflash.com/en/watches/kisai/vortex A spiralling time display framed beneath a sleek concave lens, Kisai Vortex is a limited edition touch-screen watch with a host of features. Two time zones, seconds, date, alarm, animation, LED light-up, audio feedback and touch screen operation, all housed in a stainless steel case with a stunning gunmetal finish. Styled into a vibrant cyclone of rings, the time display may look complex to outsiders but is much like a regular clock and simple to read at a glance when you know how. The gap in the outer ring of 12 large blocks indicates the current hour in the same position as a regular clock. Just inside that are smaller dots for the minutes 1-60. The inner two rings show the hours and minutes for time zone 2 in the same way. The outer most ring indicates seconds. Kisai Vortex features a hybrid display which means the time is always shown by the LCD panel but will light up on demand with vivid LED backlighting when you touch the screen. The touch screen display has 4 hot-zones (top, bottom, left, right). Simply touch with your finger to change modes; time, alarm, date, light up. Holding your finger in place for a few seconds allows you to customise; hold your finger over the alarm zone to set the alarm, hold it over the time zone to set the time. It's intuitive, simple and fun to operate. The touch screen has a lock function to prevent accidental input. After 60 seconds the screen will lock. To unlock swipe your finger across the screen from left to right. The gunmetal coating applied to Kisai Vortex is highly polished with a subtle bronze tint depending how the light catches it - a beautiful finish that oozes quality especially when contrasted against the concave mineral crystal lens. Available with two display color options: blue LCD with blue LED backlighting or natural LCD with red LED backlighting, Kisai Vortex is a limited edition watch design and will look great whether you're at a business meeting or at a bar with friends. Kisai Vortex has an animation feature that can be turned on or off. When activated, a spiralling animation will appear once every five minutes. =========== Music: Elettritarr by Magliano DJ https://www.jamendo.com/en/track/889720/elettritarr

I was gonna get this watch but then I thought don't you have to count every single little rectangle to tell the minutes?? And responses ??

This looks super impractical and like it requires an unnecessary learning curve. Why have your default watch face be something so complicated?
considering its high price and tech relation, it's the same market as smart watches. I could buy an android wear smart watch for just a bit more money which will do way, way more, and Android wear is just getting started. I'm not even a full supporter of smart watches right now. I think they've got a long way to go before they prove their worth, but even the buggiest first gen Android wear watch trumps this in terms of practicality. this doesn't have apps or different watch faces available either so what's the point of this thing? Why go to the trouble to putting in a touch screen and an LCD screen if you're not going to use those things to do something practical.
I get that this company makes quirky, different watches, but considering they're priced over £100, who is their target market? they don't seem to have amazing construction or cache or functionality, so why buy them? at least with a rolex or an apple watch, theres some fashion to that, but this is just stupid. -
I never understand why are there only 4 LEDs on the sides to light it up. Most of the watches from Tokyoflash are lit that way. It would be so much cooler if the whole display was backlit.

I really like this, looks slick! I have another touch screen watch from Tokyoflash and it's fun to use. Just deciding between blue and red!

I wish this wasn't touch enabled and be like $100 cheaper. there is no point making it touch enabled when smart watches are out there.

1:12 I'd say rather convex unless you turn it upside down...Still a phenomenal watch! Already got the kisai rogue touch, still considering getting the vortex

I've said this before but I think worth reiterating.. you're losing mindshare to the smart watches that can do all this and more. Sorry, but you're going to have to dramatically evolve or die. NIce strap but there's nothing here that makes me go wow.
You're up against the big boys and you need to find your USP ASAP. Some people carry two mobiles but everyone wishes it was just one. You've got a similar problem with watches... who wants to wear a smart watch AND one of these? The current crop of smart watches have some shortcomings but just wait to see the next gen, by which time it will be too late.
At a guess, you need to get into the android smart watch space, use high-end materials and build your brand. Custom-Premium may be your best bet. -
