I am not denying the cruelty and abuses suffered by the innocents. I am pointing out that in most cases the men here were not those responsible for them. We did not blame Eisenhower for the deaths of innocent Frenchmen and Women (and a great many Germans who were NOT Nazis) under our strategic bombing campaign . . . which would have been fair, if he'd been tried by the same standards as these men.
