Self drive holiday. Beautiful autumn koyo and fine weather in Japan! We drove all the way starting and ending in Tokyo. Toll charges are plentiful and expensive in Japan. But if you have more than 2 persons travelling together, it may be worthwhile, not to mention the convenience of leaving the luggages in the car at all times. Parking is actually not too bad. Most carparks in cities use automatic meters. Even the car lifts carparks are alright. In fact, it is even better because you can just park the car below and locked it.
