Interesting video . Especially with regard to the prices for Rolex in Tokyo. Here in the UK in the area where I live there is an independent jeweller who specialises in used Rolex. To be honest the three branches that I have visited are awash with them. There are numerous examples of Datejust's ,Explores 1 and 2, Sea Dweller's etc.To be honest I personally find them pretty un-inspiring.
However, last year ,when I had a chat with the manager of one branch , he told me that for some reason the non-date Sub is the hardest to source and at that time they didn't have any. With regard to the Speedmaster you mentioned in your video I have noticed that the asking price for the 3570.50 [the watch prior to the latest manual model with the ludicrously priced box and arguably useless contents] seems to be increasing You could pick one up used for about £1500 18 months ago and now you would be lucky to source them for less than £2000. Really enjoying your video's Cheers. -
It's been a while since I visited Japan on business, but when I was there (early 90s) I found everything to be more expensive than here in the US. Even made in Japan products.
