About 20 percent of the tickets for Rio Olympics remain unsold so far, most of which are expensive ones for better seats. According to the Rio Olympic organizing committee, Rio Olympic tickets sales have achieved their expectation by bringing more than one billion Brazilian Real thus far, with about 1.2 million tickets remain unsold. About 75 percent of the tickets have been sold to Brazilian local spectators. "The popular price we don't have any more, because everybody bought it at first, and now there're just these expensive ones. That's life. So it's kind of hard to buy this one," said Julia, a Brazilian spectator. "For the Brazilian people, it's too much. It's good for the other people in the world, but to Brazilian people it's too much," said a local spectator. "Most people that I know did not come, most because of the price of stay here, not only because of the tickets, because of the lodging, and the hotels are very expensive. It's a kind of fact," said another spectator. Rio Olympic organizing committee started to sell the tickets reserved for the local spectators to other countries since June 1 on the official website. "Most I heard about are a lot more expensive, so kind of the better seats. There are still smaller events that not everyone wants to see, and I think those have some smaller ticket prices. You know, because we will want to pay the higher price, just to see, you know, some U.S. Olympic athletes, so we want to see. It's a kind of compromise, you know," said Wilson, a spectator from the United States. However, spectators also complained about the organization of the tickets selling. "We have to ask and it's all full of problems. Like now we're 40 minutes in one line, just to change, just to take the ticket, not to buy or anything else. So their organization has some problems," said Julia.
