Song: Different Heaven - My Heart. Parasyte the Maxim: Both have main characters that gained some kind of special ability (parasite/ghoul), but did not want it. Deadman Wonderland: A world where supernatural beings are isolated and not considered equal to the rest of society. The main characters are unpleasantly dragged into a world of abyss where their survival skills are to be put to the test. Attack on Titan: Fighting for survival of humanity that is a theme that both of these anime have in common. The main characters both have to fight in order to survive and they obtain a certain power that changes everything. You will see blood gore, stunning fight scenes and epic powers. But beware this are some dark series... Akame ga Kill: The main characters of both these anime and up in an organisation without wanting it in the first place. They get caught up in a fight they didn't want to fight, but have no choice left. If you like anime with a lot of action and good fight scenes, then these anime are just perfect for you! Another: Very similar atmosphere. Both contain mystery, horror, and lots of bloodshed. Both contain humanoid monsters. Ao no Exorcist: Ao no Exorcist and Tokyo Ghoul both run on the system of "What have I become?!" Both main protagonists start out with normal human lives uninterrupted with the 'real' world they are being kept away from. Both protagonists are then introduced to the hidden world they were being kept hidden from under certain disastrous incidents having to deal with death. Psycho Pass: Both animes have similar dark and tense atmosphere and OSTs. They differ by psycho being a suspense cop/detective, and Toyko Ghoul being a more of the horror genre. Zankyou no Terror: BOTH: From a perspective that is considered a threat to society. (Terrorists, Ghouls) Involve a team of investigators tracking down our main protagonists. Are set in the city of Tokyo. Have similar art styles. Have similar tones/moods. Have similar music. Have characters which seem threatening on the outside, but have relatively good intentions. Kyoukai no Kanata: Both anime contain a main character who is half human and half monster. (Half-Youmu in KnK and Half-Ghoul in Tokyo Ghoul). Both anime and dark fantasies type anime with elements of supernatural and horror. The OP and ED's of both anime are stunning, and some of the best I've heard, KnK taking a more J-Pop/Rock route and Tokyo Ghoul a J-Rock/Metal style, either way great soundtracks in both. Phantom: The Requiem for the Phantom Watching the first episode of Tokyo Ghoul remind me a lot to Phantom. Why? Because they bot have a main protagonist who becames a "something" (in Phantom, a phantom, in Tokyo Ghoul, a ghoul) against their own will. They both have to kill people for different reasons too. The main difference is that Phantom envolves mafia and adult characters, while the most part of Tokyo Ghoul's cast (by now) are teenagers. ★ DISCLAIMER ★ I do not own the anime, music, artwork or the lyrics.
