Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Drift (PS2 Gameplay) | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
Tokyo Xtreme Racer DRIFT (PS2) - Car: Acura RSX Type-S DC5 - Course: Hakone Tokyo Extreme Racer DRIFT takes the adrenaline of street racing into the mountains and onto very demanding courses. Race real production cars on real mountain courses. Nissan, Toyota, Subaru, Audi, Alfa Romeo, Mini, Volkswagen and more are all there to be tested on some of Japan's toughest terrain in Iroha, Haruna, Rokko and Hakone. Tokyo Extreme Racer DRIFT has two distinct racing challenges. As a race car driver, you take part in official mountain races during the daytime and then race for pride (and car upgrades and parts) at night. The idea is to earn money from day races to enhance your car and then bet car parts in night races. Sponsors will further enhance your income if you are successful. There are uphill and downhill races, day and night time races, challenging weather and season conditions and a nerve-ending one on one rival racing battle system.

the worst racing game i ever played. i guess this game was rebadged kaido battle. either the physics were broken during localization, or kaido battle sucks. bigtime
there is NO such thing as weight transfer, and drifts are non existant. the e-brake is merely a spinout button, similar to busido blade's hara kiri button. push it and die.
the drifting physics are about as realistic as an atlantian coming out of the sea and presenting you with a magic carpet. like i said, there is no such thing as weight transfer, and there is no such thing as weight on the front wheels. the cars have a weighty feel to them though, they feel like bricks.
the tracks in any other game, would have been awesome. there is the legendary mt. haruna(akina) as well as others. and they all look beautiful. too bad you can't have fun on them.
they all look good though, and the tracks are beautiful too so, good graphics.
they say that you can tune your cars, but it's a lie. i bought a 1-way L.S.D. for an 86, tuned it for maximum torque, and there was no diffrence. moving on, there's a few nice cars. skylines, slivias, Autozam AZ1s, the lot, good luck keeping your attention long enough to buy them.
the sound is terrible. everything sounds generic, and the soundtrack is Japanese country. also, it's the same 5 tracks, OVER and OVER!
5 minutes before writing this review, i suffered from a game related freak-out. this game is not only crappy, it's bad for your health and walls. do not buy this game. do not rent it. do not even look at it. in fact, stop reading this review about it. -
how can a FWD car like that drift?!
-
You browsed cars for half an hour?

OoOoO
-
the only good thing about this game was the cinematics
-
The handling in this game is very peculiar. It might just be the camera, but it's like the back of the car is fixed in a solid position, and the front of the car moves separate from the rear.
-
7:34 and 8:08 How much you want to bet those cars are in there because of the "Lucky Star" anime? Lucky Star Initial D Parody
-
I lost this game for my dreamcast R.I.P dreamcast
-
I hate this game so much cause its look like cars driving on ice because you can control the car to the direction you want her to go
