Enjoy a few scenes from the 2016 Azabu-juban Noryo matsuri. The are many summer festivals in Japan that feature everything from fireworks to food, however one of the most popular is the Azabu-juban matsuri held on the cobblestone streets of the Azabu-juban traditional shopping district. Hundreds of thousands of both local people and tourists make their way through the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds to enjoy all kinds of Japanese and foreign foods as well as a wide variety of beer, wine and spirits from all over the world. There are all kinds of sweet treats as well, including cotton candy, candy apples and shave ice. But the festival is more than just food and drinks, it’s also about people watching, kimono clad girls, shouting food vendors, picture taking, selfies, music, dance, parades, taiko drum performances, goldfish scooping and so much more.
