Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
This is a material for Nextup Project in Japan. The title is Changing. Total time duration of the timelapse is over 2 years, which is from January 2009 to March 2011. You can see the growing tower like "tree" from ground level to top 634 meters tall, running clouds and rising Moon as well. And sometimes I ride a helicopter to take pictures of it to see its changing and changing town. I do keep this activities and Youtube is good place to publish my outputs. Wow, the Sky Tree is super, super awesome. Having seen images on TV, it really is a fantastic structure and now defines Tokyo, one of globe's biggest cities.
-
thank you for posting!
-
It was told that too much structure/buildings had surrounded the tokyo tower which make the transmission bad so they need a higher tower to accommodate.
-
Whether they wasted their money or not doesn't really matter, the skytree is both a paid tourist attraction and a tv transmitter paid by public. So it will in time pay itself off whilst symbolising tokyo. It is an impressive structure which tokyo has lacked and dominates th cit nicely. Every major city has a tall building including 'london' which has just completed the tallest building in the eu. It is a new symbol of london but serves only as one purpose; to accommodate the rich an wealthy

Higher is better, plus the tokyo skytree is located north of tokyo. I visited tokyo last week and the original red tower has a more central spot offering better views of tokyo. Plus the wait for the skytree was a ridiculous 5 hours. They give you a reserved ticket for visiting the deck and mine was a ridiculous 17:00 - 17:30 which I was given at around 12:00 pm. The tokyo sky tree attracts a lot of retail (sky tree) shops which the japanese love, but this I feel ruins the main attraction.

it's amazing to know (mostly) Japanese building survived the earthquake, including this tower.. i always love Japanese architecture
-
so the tokyo tower is obsolite now?

Dear from 1., Thank you for your response and information. . I was surprised to hear that cable is not so widespread. . Cheers. from, del-boy.
-
Hi, del-boy, in Japan cable doesn't cover this country all area. So terrestrial TV tower is convenient. You don't need to directly see the tower anntena from your home. Because electric wave(television wave) can reach shade area with character of the wave. Thank you!

The Tokyo Skytree was opened ! on May 22.
-
In order to cover Its area even though there are many very tall buildings in Tokyo, the tower is necessary. from1st in reply to lwokid 1 month ago ....... Dear from1., Do televisions need to have an aerial no-a-days? Are you talking about HD television? Don't that come via a cable? . What about tall buildings in the way of the tower, is ability to "see" the tower a requirement for obtaining television reception? . Just wondering. . Cheers. from, del-boy
