Came this close to knocking over Graham Wright's keyboard.. :P Other Tidbits: Once the band started playing this song, the crowd started dancing and a mini-mosh pit opened up behind the front row. As a result, several people in the front row got inadvertently pushed onto the stage, which is why at the 0:42 mark Dave Monks picks up the mic stand and moves it back a foot. The stage at The Rickshaw Stop is only ~2 feet high, about knee-level, so if you're in the 1st row and get pushed, you fall over head first. The girl next to me got pushed, and was about to fall over head first onto a large collection of foot pedals, which is why Dave Monks comes over at ~0:53 to brace her head with his arm until the crowd eased up. Right before the band played the 1st song of the encore, My Name is Jonas, Dave came by to say he was so sorry about that and to ask if she was alright. I spent my time on stage at the 1:54 mark, when you can see the underside of Graham Wright's keyboard. :P The Rickshaw Stop is a great venue, even though it's about the size of a 2-car garage... tandem. Of course, the small size didn't stop a few fans from crowd surfing during the set. It was a short trip. :P This was an Outside Lands warm-up for the Tokyo Police Club, who performed the next day. They played this venue along with the Arkells, Freelance Whales, and A B & the Sea. The concert started at 830pm and was supposed to end at around 12am, but instead it lasted to ~2am, with TPC coming on at midnight. It was probably the latest start time for a headliner that I've been to, not to mention probably the longest time I've spent standing without an opportunity to sit down (~5 hours). Tickets to this show only cost $12. During the in-between song banter with the crowd, Dave Monks joked that he was happy to provide the audience cheaper alternative to the Outside Lands, which was $140 for a 2-day pass. Setlist: 1.
