TOKYO NATIONAL MUSEUM Toyokan (Asian Gallery) It was opened in 1968, designed by Taniguchi Yoshiro. The exhibit rooms are arranged in a spiral ascending from the basement to the 5th floor. The Toyokan renovations for protect against earthquakes were refurbished on January 2, 2013. The galleries feature art and artifacts from regions including China, Korea, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, India, and Egypt.
