was going to buy this game but after hearing it being censored to shit I decided to put my money on smt4 and was going to get apocalypse aswell.
-
How hypocritical for a company who started in gambling and sex hotels.
-
Hey, no offense, but can no one just think about the fact that some kids like Fire Emblem and Persona too?! Not as much for Persona tho, but I know slot of kids who like both series, (or at least just Fire Emblem) who would love to play this game. Localisation versions just wants it to fit the Fire Emblem side of viewers and the non-localisation can be for Persona fans. Jeez guys, sorry Nintendo wants to keep kids happy with games they love...
Plus most parents would like their kids playing games with this stuff in it. -
I hate dumb censorship in America. If you don't like the way it is don't play it.
-
I bought the game without knowing about the changes made and I enjoyed it. Now that I know about these...my opinion hasn't changed. The game is still great and the only thing I would change is add English voice acting and put in an option to hear either the Japanese voices or the English voices.
-
I was going to get this game but when I saw all the censorship not anymore.
-
I hate when these changes happen, they are just incredibly pointless.
Witcher 2 and 3 are incredibly successful games and each have multiple scenes of characters graphically boneing. -
This why I hate when people say Nintendo for kids but honestly it's fucking America that's for kids.
-
They wanted it to seem like it was in Japan but they take out a legit type of idol in Japan. Wow
-
The only one that made me feel uncomfortable was the removal of the bathhouse cutscenes
-
Wow, they put an awful lot of work into this censorship. Surprised they'd even bother for such a niche product. As much as I abhor censorship in general, I have to give them some credit here; save for the shadowy upskirts, the changes were at least well done.

This just really annoying in a few parts, especially where the changes don't make sense, like tsubasa throwing off her clothes to have an entirely different outfit underneath...and hair. I have that one to just be a game shortcut, but it still took me out of the experience. The wedding dress paint thing also makes that character model just have far too much white on it. I actually don't like it because of that. Plus, not getting dlc or a dub cause they cheaped out was ridiculous. Persona, SMT, even Devil Survivor all get dubs and they're Japanese in Japan games. Nintendo literally sent this game out to die just to keep its age rating low and cheap out on localization where they could cause they needed to do so freaking much censorship cause they couldn't risk releasing a game that's rated M

Esrb is probably just scared of boobs and the feminine form. Since they even had the idea of making the girls dress in a boy-ish style instead of bikinis. Could've been anything. But at least they added something "weird" to make the story still make sense even if just a little.
-
It sucks.. Either you miss out on important dialog by importing or you purchase and play into the current censorship model.
-
Unpopular opinion, Warning triggering.
I hate this game, and could literally NOT get through it without getting bored of the characters and surroundings, the only character I really liked was that one girl who appeared at the start and sang, but I just cannot give a flying f**k about this game anymore. although the songs were pretty good. -
And as for what I think of those changes? Most of them where overdoing just to get that T rating (the game was originally expected to get an M rating and the first trailer that we, of the West, saw HAD none of the censored stuff) and at some point it looked liked they did a lazy job.
Also, I am a supporter of Dubs who's against lazy sub-only releases (I'm looking at YOU, Sentai) and blatant and bad censorship, and I don't like how things have been going with Fire Emblem : Awakening was GREAT with stellar dubbing and little to no real censorship (the worst they did was that curtain that didn't really help much, making it look like she was taking off her bottom), Fates was okay but had Felicia and a mixed bag of changes (Soleil had her controversial Support altered for the better, the face rubbing was replaced with a close up cutscene that kind of made things easier, but they removed almost ALL the alternate outfits and made it impossible to look around in the Hot-Springs) and TMS is the WORST with no dub with a lie given as an excuse and censorship EVERYWHERE!!!
One thing to add, though, Xenoblade X also had it bad in the censorship part : Many costumes for one character was modified, one was modified for EVERYONE and a feature was removed in a bad way. I mean, if they wanted to remove the breast slider, they should've had the chest grow and shrink with the character because not everyone is into Oppai Lolis. -
I don't believe that Bogus statement from the Direct! If they wanted to keep the feeling of a Japanese setting, they wouldn't have dubbed Persona nor any SMT games. I'm pretty sure it had more to do with the fact that the game flopped in Japan and the complications of dubbing a game that had such a focus on song that made the original casting hard because they needed seiyuus who could sing (and even then, that one has the problem of being made by the company that made Stella Glow, which has non-dubbed songs but DUBBED DIALOGUES, removing that excuse and leaving the flop as the only viable explanation). Neither of those explanation would make them look good, however, so they decided to LIE TO US! I will never forgive Treehouse for that blatant lie!
-
What do I think? I think the west, and game companies equally need to grow the fuck up and stop acting like 5 year olds that are afraid to see "video game" skin. Jesus Christ.
-
For me, the censorship doesn't matter too much. The only bad censorship I saw was the outfit stuff in the gravure stuff. Other than that its nothing too bad. So they change a few things. The part of the pelvis though was funny yet cruel.

UGH censorship ruins games!!!!!!
