The Fukutoshin Line - operated by Tokyo Metro - is newest line in the Tokyo subway network, it opened in stages between 1994 and 2008. A special feature on the Fukutoshin Line are the express services which may pass local trains at Higashi-Shinjuku. On both ends of this line trains may continue traveling on the Tobu Tojo Line to Shinrin-Koen, on the Tokyu Toyoko Line and further on the Minatomirai Line to Motomachi-Chukagai in Yokohama, at Kotake-Mukaihara there are through services on the Seibu Yurakucho and further on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line to Hanno.
