Tokyo Marathon is an annual marathon in Tokyo. Tokyo Marathon started in 2007, and, along with London Marathon, Boston Marathon and NYC Marathon, it is one of the big scale inner-city marathon competitions in the world. It is actually one of six World Marathon Majors in which a lot of foreigners take part as well. Under the slogan "The Day We Unite," the competition has been providing opportunities for people to come together and develop community spirit. And since 2011, for the purpose of "uniting" a greater number of people, the event has taken place under the theme "Tsunagu" (solidarity). The event is popular for allowing people to run on public roads that you would normally be unable to use unless you are driving; and due to the sheer number of applicants, there is only a 10% chance of getting selected to participate in Tokyo Marathon via lottery drawing. The attractively designed route passes some of the Tokyo's main tourist spots, including Ginza, Asakusa, Tsukiji, Tokyo Skytree, among other places, allowing you the chance to see some of the most popular places in the city. As for the most famous and fun aspect of Tokyo Marathon: every year many participants come and run in "Cosplay"(costumes) Production : Tokyo Film info@tokyo-film.com
