Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 - Trailer [HD] | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
The premise of the project is the 70% possibility that a magnitude 7.0 earthquake will occur in Tokyo in the next 30 years. The anime depicts what would happen if an 8.0 earthquake took place. The story centers on Mirai, a middle school freshman girl who goes to Tokyo's artificial Odaiba Island for a robot exhibition with her brother Yuuki at the start of summer vacation. After a massive earthquake in Tokyo, which destroyed large parts of the city, they struggle to reach their parents in their house in Setagaya, assisted by a female motorcycle courier named Mari, who is striving to reach her own daughter and mother in Sangenjaya. Together, the three brave the ruined city and try their best to make it home safely. Genre: Adventure, Drama, Tragedy, Josei Hehe, time for some noitaminA again. Tokyo Magnitude is a very touching anime about two siblings who try to reach their home after an earthquake. Very recommended if you rather want some realistic slice of life than fantasy stuff. PS: Three trailers in a week, this gotta be a new record. But don't expect too much after the break :D

gotta say that it's scary how a earthquake worst then this actually happened in Japan 2 years after they made this show again to years before 2011's earthquake

At least in Japanese animation the government actually does something. In western cartoons usually only the heroes are existent there to fend off the foe. Like was SWAT on an urgent code black coffee break?

I love this Im rewatching it
-
can't breathe... too sad

This anime sure left me a severe trauma since I watched it just a few days before the 8.8 earthquake in my country (Chile) I never thought I would experience something like what was depicted in this series (if not even worse)
Today, I still couldn't re watch it, even though is one of the most emotional rides I've ever had. -
just watched the rest of the episodes, i am literally crying T-T
-

song is called Kimi no Uta (キミノウタ)" by abingdon boys school
-
Such a shame this anime didn't have a better soundtrack... Some tracks are excellent like Mirai No Nichijô" or "Fond Farewell", but the rest is rather forgetable.
-
The epic plot twist at episode 10.
I cant accept it :'(
"Sorry, Im dead."
Had to rewatch a few episodes back to catch any clues that Yuuki was dead throughout.
Realized that right after the "yuuki hospitalized" scenes, it was always only Mirai interacting with everyone else.
damn.
Well written anime! :') -
thought they were destroying tokyo, but in truth, they destroyed me
-
Jesus Christ, this anime absolutely destroyed me.

I love japanese series, but something that really PISSES ME OFF ABOUT JAPANESE SERIES, is that when some of them are supposed to be drammatic, the trailers use rock songs. so dumb, it makes me not want to watch this 0:26

I thought this was just yet another post-apocalyptic sci-fi anime. It turns out, this is the anime equivalent of a disaster movie.
