Tokyo Layover - Daytrip to Narita - Shinsho-ji Temple | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
If you have ever been stuck at the Narita Tokyo International Airport during a layover - you're not the only one. Next time, leave the airport and discover Japan. Just a short train ride away, you will find the Shinsho-ji Temple in Narita, Japan. Simply go through customs and hop on the train - Keisei or JR lines both go to Narita. However, you can save some money by taking the Keisei Line. From the Keisei line, a short 1.2 km walk will lead you to the Shinsho-ji Temple. The temple is open from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, and it is completely free. Along the way, you will find quaint restaurants and shops where you can experience Japanese cuisine and buy something to remember your journey. Even if you have a longer stay in Japan, Narita is a wonderful small town to experience on the first or last day of your journey. With easy access to the airport, it is a great place to enjoy without the worry of a long journey to catch your flight. Extremely helpful video. Thank you for posting this! Showing the trek from the station to the temple really clears things up for me. We'll be traveling to Los Angeles this December and we have 7-hour layover in Narita. I hope this will give us enough time to see, even just the temple, at least.

If i have a 11hrs layover, would you recommend going to Omotesando Narita? Or pay the shibuya, tokyo a visit? Would it be too much os a rush to go to Tokyo and back in 10-11h? Thankkkssssss

Hey man! Awesome video! I have a 6hr40min layover at Narita soon and I want to do the same thing you did, explore Narita City! Just got questions if you don't mind helping me out:
1.) How long did it take you to clear out customs and purchase train tickets once you got off plane?
2.) How long was train ride to Narita?
3.) How long was the walk from train station to the Shinsho-Ji Temple?
4.) About how much in US Dollars did you exchange for Japanese Yen? (I wanna eat unagi, purchase train ticket, buy a small souvenier or two)
5.) How long did it take for you once you got back to the airport to go through security, customs, and check in for your connecting flight?
Thanks again! -

How long was your layover? I'm going to be there for 8 hours and I was wondering if I could go to the Aeon mall *which is still in Narita) as well.

Thank you so much for this video! My flight is on march. Is the temple the only place you can visit? I have 6hours stopover. 12pm-6pm. So i think about 3-4hours to visit outside the airport?
