♥♥ Tokyo Apartment Tour ♥♥ | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
My husband and I moved to Tokyo last year for his job. We fell in love with this place right away. It's a bit outside of Tokyo proper, so rent was only (hahahaha, only...) 140,000yen per month / $1,400. Apartments in Tokyo aren't as "high tech" as you might believe, though. Our place doesn't have central heating - which is how Japanese houses/apartments are. There were only air conditioning/heating units in two of the four rooms, and there weren't wall outlets in the other two rooms (so we couldn't just buy and attach our own). But, you know, it's home. Or it was home. We no longer live in Tokyo now. We're still in Japan, though. I'm uploading this video sitting in my new living room, surrounded by rice fields and retired folks. We will still come into Tokyo several times a year (for the big events), but city life just didn't suit us. We're country folk. Wow, rents in japan are pretty expensive. I can rent double the size of that apartment in city center with heat electricity and everything in Turkey. But people earn way less money in Turkey. Public school teachers earn 800-1000 dolars a month. Even doctor salaries are 1300 dolars here. I'm really jelous of how much people earn in Japan.

i'm surprised, japan knows how to say things right! (i mean the ikea part at 6:10 something) that's how we say it in Sweden 😊

I need to go there just for the baths that stay hot <3

Great place that is less than 1/2 Km to RokaKoen station.. My place was $1000 month way outside Tokyo (Ebina) for a 1LDK. The price for yours seems pretty reasonable. I miss the 100 yen stores.

Ryosuke is hilarious :)

He cooks, he cleans... What can't he do?!

Wow the trash situation SUCKS, I could not do that :( Japan is so beautiful and so is Tokyo and I will someday visit so not sure how I will handle that. Might just rock back and forth until I get to dispose of it XD 1,400 for that place :o Makes me really appreciate living in the US

We are paying $1,450 per month for a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath house that is over 2500 square feet and has a fireplace, 2-car garage, attic, and nearly and acre of land, but we're kind of out in the boonies in the U.S. It's not a good place for someone who wants to play Pokémon Go regularly (like me.) But it has its benefits, like having a small vegetable garden, and less air pollution. We want to move closer to the beach, though.

I paid about that for a smaller place in Azabu Juban in the 80s!!! What part of town were you all living? So fun to see a modern Japanese-American couple. SUPER NASTUKASHI! Thanks for sharing!
