OOOps! Did I miss something? Like the word AUGUST? I believe Mr. Cucek may have mentioned it on his blog, but the 64 olympics were held in wonderful fall October weather. The 2020 games are set for 100F %110 humidity August, the season of death by heatstroke in Japan. Oh Heck!

Thanks for these comments. Putting this podcast together is terrific fun and even for me a really enticing learning experience. Thanks for participating. Chris, the bracelet is a gift from my wife. The stones possess certain qualities and hocus-pocus, largely (I am told) based on Chinese and Buddhist influences. I can't quite explain it, but it sure seems to have a positive influence. Also, these days something of a fashion statement among mid-and senior-level guys here in Japan. You see them a lot.

As always, I love the show. By the way, Mr. Langley, I noticed you wear an interesting bracelet. Was wondering what it was. Cheers!

good show guys
The challenge for Japan is not in spending money in either Tokyo or Kyoto. Its the rest of the country. So in my humble opinion the entire Olympics story has been a fiasco from the start. The lies, the theft and we haven`t even discussed the professional criminals at the Olympic Committee yet!
If Abe really had a vision it would have been to rebuild Tohoku and to host the Olympics there. But we all know that would never happen because its all about the beltway. The sun rises and sets in greater Tokyo, while the rest of country languishes. The top high school in my city does not have flushing toilets yet there is plenty of money for pulling down stadiums in the capital city. Its disgusting actually. Anyway thanks for posting and I am looking forward to the next discussion
