Tips for Tricking your Japanese in-laws into Liking you (Part 2) | Tokyo

Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh_5Y4QNzaI I got lucky. I married a really awesome guy who happens to think I'm also awesome. And I married into a wonderful, caring family that loves me - not despite of OR because of - the fact I am foreign. A lot of my friends haven't been so lucky. And a lot of the people who comment on my blog/YouTube channel have been even MORE unlucky. So these are my obvious/bad bits of advice for tricking your Japanese in-laws into liking you. I'm a Japanese-Canadian in Canada and my mother at first did not like my Canadian (Caucasian) girlfriend...but my gf made an effort to help around the house (above and beyond by fixing many things) and my mom was really impressed with her work ethic, cleanliness ( the after clean-up)and that she made an effort to speak Japanese (which was very little). within a month, my mom started asking "how is she today? she works so hard! her cooking is delicious"! and in turn that brought me and my mom closer together also ^^ yeay

That daikon magic trick got me dead xD
-
I think it would be funnier to listen to what YOUR American parents thought about you marrying a Japanese dude....lol.
-
Ha! This totally applies to getting my in-laws to like me. Although, I don't know if my Russian mother-in-law would wear matching shirts with me, lol
-
That man is silly hilarious... Ryosuke's cooking shows are amazing too!

Its funny to stumble upon this video. I have got a japanese girlfriend, but i live in germany. I am going to meet her parents/grandparents for the first time during christmas and new year. She already told her parents that she is going to move to germany next year though. So we did not quite follow the advice from your first video. I hope it will work out fine either way ^^

would this also apply to philipino parents?????

Encouraging you to shower together? I do that with my fiancé all the time here in CA 9 years strong. It's great time to be intimate, but out of curiosity is that cultural among couples in Japan? Or is it something else?
-
You married a total goofball, I love it. I feel like he is naturally silly, and that it's not forced at all. I wish more American guys were that comfortable being like this!
-
Lol he kills me!! Love his randomness!!
-
You guys are quickly becoming my favorite couple ever.
-
the guy is goofy and funny, the girl on the other hand is just another american with no manners at all.
stop making faces every time he says something and respect him a bit cause he loves you -

Good tips. I think those tips are wise for any in-laws regardless of nationality.
