Three minutes at Narita Airport Japan | Tokyo

1. Question: I'm flying into NRT from the U.S. with a connecting flight to Singapore on the same airline. I've been told I will need to go through a security checkpoint upon arrival to NRT, but can anyone tell me if I will have to retrieve my luggage prior to going through security or will my bags be checked all the way through to Singapore? Thanks.
