This is an explanation of a few different visa types for each country and how I have lived in Japan for 16 years and now Thailand. In Japan I have indefinite residency through a permanent resident visa. In Thailand I am currently on a METV (Multi Entry Tourist Visa). In this video I talk a little bit about the conditions you must meet to get these kinds of visas. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––-- Lifetime Contributor Jim Felton Pascal Oetterli Terence & JoAnne Ryan Executive Producers Aniel Rivera Richard Drew Producers Matt the W Joseph Jacob Moore Andrei Rob Daniel Eriksson Mark Borelli Dean Hamlin Mads Jensen *Visit https://www.patreon.com/ryanboundless?ty=h if you would like to support the channel and/or receive producer credits. What about the Thai retirement visa?
-
ryan FRIDAY LEG DAY !
-
Thank you Ryan for some really well researched visa information.
-
hey Ryan, great video's , just wondered about the Thai visa , is it from your departure date when you have to do the border run 30 days later , and then exactly 60 days after that again ???, I'm staying for four months this trip, then eight months next year

What about retirement visa in Japan?
-
I was under the impression that the METV would give you 60 days, you could go to Immigration and extend it another 30, then do the border run, rinse, lather, repeat. Getting you 90 days per entry instead of 60.

I like the middle of nowhere. I live there now...

good info!

his visa problems are just beginning. The METV is NOT designed for long term stays or living there. It is for multi entry tourist. Thailand is making it difficult to stay there long term now unless one does the proper visa. The Thai officials are scrutinizing things, and properly so. He is now saying he will get a Education visa. Certainly possible but many provinces are checking that you actually do go to the school x number of hours. He is trying to skirt the law and you need to be aware of the thai visas. I suggest you go to thai visa dot com and read

An education visa in Thailand needs to be extended every 30 days at 1900 Baht a time and the extension is up to the immigration officer. If he thinks your not studying he can give you 7 days.
Only education visas for studying in schools or universities are yearly. Language schools tell you it's a one year visa but it's not. -
Better way is a One year Multi entry. You can extend that to 15 months
-
So you cant do in thailand what you did in japan?
-
Awesome

I have a question for you if it is not too much trouble.
I have a 2 week vacation & was wondering if I need a visa in Thailand?
I heard if you stay less then 30days it's not a issue.
trying to get someone in the embassy is HORRIBLE & hard.
