Great review. What an awful place. Even the sushi is subpar.

Cooked fish. Yikes. I don't want that in my sushi.
-
made me so hungry but you're not impressed :(

Thanks a lot! Clear and honest review. I was relieved to hear your conclusions because watching the video as a rookie sushi cook I couldn't avoid noticing rice falling apart as well as nori...and I got quite perplexed...

I tried OMAKASE in Asia (dont want to mention the place and location) not japan but it was the Worst Japanese Omakase and they charged $150per head, really japan and the states they served the best OMAKASE!

Suggestion you might wanna write down from a pro: go to sushi Dai, Tsukiji fish market if you have not been, my favorite place in Tokyo personally. Next to perhaps chef Mizutani, but Mizutani is just as hard to get into as sukiyabashi jiro (almost) anyways sushi Dai is in the outer market of the Tsukiji fish market in tokyo. It's the freshest fish you can get in the city due to the fact that the fish you get come straight from the auctions inside the market and were practically alive swimming 45 minutes before its on your plate, freshest everything but some very weird pieces (oddest i have had is the cod sperm sac yeah i know, not too scrumptious sounding) few heads ups the line is long as hell and you will be waiting there for 2 hours in line, also you have to wake up around 3AM and make sure to get there in line at 5AM if you want the freshest and best fish as well as a shot at getting in. Wait is tedious and going to the market that early is brutal but the pay off is paradise. Easily the greatest sushi experience of my life. And since this isn't the most unwell known to be one of the best, it's possible you know this already and don't care to read what i have just wrote, lol. But yeah definitely in the top 5 best sushi bars in Tokyo.

I find these places who try-hard (git gut) to be trendy to be the asian version of hipsters. Often more show than substance. Bad sign if the other guests are trying to be too cool for school with white wine n' shit.

$15 for water?? damnnn

Matt - I love your beautiful photography, and always enjoy your channel. Also love when you visit with Tony and Chelsea. Now you have me watching delicious food. Awesome!

You should rate a Red Lobster sometime, lol. Maybe gorge on all-you-can-eat shrimp or something. It would be good for a laugh. :D
