Summer Fireworks in Japan | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
Fireworks are very popular in Japan, and nearly every one of Tokyo's 23 wards launches them during the July and August weekends. Access by car would not be possible for most venues, so most people arrive by train, bike, or foot. Visit www.lifewhereimfrom.com to find out more about the episode and to share your stories about what fireworks are like where you're from. I truly love your channel, Aiko! I have seen just about all your videos. I even those I've seen over and over again. you remind me so much of myself when I was your age! Everytime I see your videos you bring a smile to my face. Kudos you, Greg and your wife, for bringing up such great kids!

Only time fireworks in the U.S happens is during July the 4th 😂. You just sit outside in your lawn chairs with your families. Hopefully someday I can explore Japan and experience Japanese summer fireworks.

In Brazil, there are fireworks during most football/soccer/whatever-it-is-you-call-it matches, but the major firework displays happen in new year's eve. When the clock strikes twelve, fireworks start almost everywhere in the country, tough some places put on better shows than others. The jewel in the crown probably is the firework display in Copacabana beach in Rio; it's pretty famous! It's also fun because new year happens during summer here, so most people who are nearby beaches go there to watch the fireworks :)

Woowww

I didn't catch it (and I watched twice): what does "yukata" mean? I saw the arrow pointing to the woman in the kimono -- but not sure.

Who pays for the fireworks? The city?

In the UK we have our fireworks on Bombfire Night. It is on the 5th on November (but displays are done on the saturdays around it) and it marks the day Guy Fawks tried to blow up the houses of parliament with a lot of gun powder. The displays always start with a huge bombfire and then have amazing fireworks for around 10 minuets. If you go to a good display the fireworks are incredible, some displays are really bad though as they are very short and use very cheap fireworks. New year's is when our country has the best fireworks. The fireworks in London are broadcast across the nation and they are incredible. Very thought out displays and they go on for a long time too. The start of 2016 was my favourite display by far.

Ugh I'm so jealous of everyone wearing a yukata. My main goal in life is to go to Japan and go to a fireworks festival and wear a beautiful yukata, like one of the ones in the video.

in Malaysia, we can see fireworks during any festival or sometimes during someone's birthday or wedding. can see it from car or house (in certain place). no need to get crowded.

Hi Aiko! Where I'm from I live 10 minutes away from Disney World so I get to see fireworks every night! Thank you for the fun videos. They are helping me learn about Japan so I will be ready for my trip to Tokyo next year.

Eyy that's pretty good! IDubbbzTV anyone?

Here in the US, we have our biggest fireworks display on July 4th which is our Independence Day. I have video on my channel from 2014 from Nashville, TN. Check it out when you have the time.

Actually our fireworks here are also pretty exciting. On new year people would launch fireworks when it becomes the first day of the year so usually people go to somewhere high so they can see every firework at different places at the same time

Where I'm from (Montreal, Canada), we have an International Firework Competition every July. Teams from all over the world come to showcase their best fireworks. It's very spectacular!!! Love your videos btw :-)
