MAY WE ALL HAVE PEACE AND LOVE IN THIS NEW YEAR!

Can someone explain Stevie's guitar & amp setup on the Tokyo show? There is some effect or amp or something (not just the Wah pedal) that I am hearing during this concert that is different from most other SRV live shows (in fact, I only hear it this much from shows around late-1984 to mid-1985). It is giving him amazing sustain...kind of swirling/whirling sound...does anyone have any ideas what he is using or doing differently? It is even very noticeable even in the opening warm up notes he plays before Scuttle Buttin. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated!

gawd damn he just comes out blasting and stays that way all the way...this mofo was just insane with his energy, not endorsing his coke habit at all but hell whatever the something that was all in this dude just takes you to a different place!! and i can't stop wanting to listen and have his notes keep taking me in all diff directions at once. best version of voodoo child i've ever heard him perform. just screamin

Should've smoked a pipe in every gig. His best tone and playing ever.

The man had tone, talent, tenacity, timing, God blessed him with big strong hands, he had soul running thru every fiber of his body, he had humility and respect for other bluesman and paid due homage. He just wanted to play for him and for us. He gave everything, left nothing on the stage or in recording. For me, no one makes me feel the way he does and I listen to them all. It's always SRV.. Im eternally grateful for the little time he shared, eternally sad it wasn't more. He wasn't a God, he didn't like that, he was a man with this incredible way of digging deep and letting music flow thru him. Life Without You SRV is sad, what could have been and never will be yet im grateful. Iove you for many things and will always pray you are peaceful and pray you are still playing that music you only can. Thank you for the love you passed our way.

I liked that big bend at 3:19 that just ends in this huge rake that picks up those SRV signature sounds
