Our constitution is shredded. There is not much left of it. Obama said he would never use it but if the republiCONS win. as they are trying to gerrymander the states in their favor, who is to say what they would do? I don't trust them at all.
-
Look at the Patriot Act. Look at the NDAA that Obama signed. And now they want to start regulating guns. I cried that day of Sandy Hook. Look at the craziness of the republiCONS. They are trying to bully their way into getting what they want. Hitlers brown shirts were also bullies. Verizon applied for a patent on a DVR that had a camera and microphone to see and hear what was going on in order to send them commercials that might get sales from it. Riiiiiiiiight!! I hope I'm wrong. But what if...

Dude, STFU. While I subscribe to many CT ideas, it's people like you that make us look like idiots.
-
Ah! Another way for Big Brother to punish those they don't like by turning off their power when they say something Big Brother doesn't like. Scarf it up people! Big Brother wants you in it's bag.

:-) and we could try electric RAID :-) :-)

and you talking conveyed political message so that everyone can contribute to turning devices off, isn't that what earth hour do? why do you think its only 1 day? do you thing people will always follow them? that's why i confuse when you said maybe in the near future government will turn anything that's not essential to you, so from my perspective you thinking on the world become a communist, like north Korean doing right now.
-
if you talking about earth hour, yes. but saving the earth is not only limited to earth hour, there are tree planting, recycling, etc. politician all over the world already speak of this since long ago, even now obama still with his green energy. but why do you think we still haven't get the immediate effect? because our main energy still oil, water, geothermal (from the earth). you know right there are developed, developing, and least developing country, they have city you know.
-
Things like "the earth hour" have a negligible immediate effect on saving energy or resources. The real effect of these events is the conveyed political message, that everyone can contribute by turning devices off, instead of leaving them in standby and all that small little tricks. And if most conscience people live in urban environments, how is that an argument? by 2020 it is predicted, that 90% of worlds population will live in cities.
-
let me ask you, since when do you think the save the earth mission's been around? do you really follow the earth hour with the save the earth on mind or just because you follow the trend? do you always do that or only thinking on saving your electricity because of the bill? can you count how many person do that? please... most conscience people regarding their electricity are only in the city area and mostly because of the bill not because of the saving the earth mission

To get me right: I'm not ranting against this product because I'm one of those guys who feel the constant intrusion by the state into their rights to practice a most wasteful way of life and devil-may-care. But I got the feeling that this product is endorsed by lazy minds and scarcity deniers, as in "oh I can now switch off AC in all but my room", instead of questioning the Idea of an AC-flooded country as a whole. And of course I mind not having control over my food source, y should I not?
-
In a world with scarcity the only logical solution to the problem is to get the message into peoples brains, at first that there is scarcity, and second in order to avoid it, everyone individually must contribute to save natural resources. This message can't be delivered via companys and their products, because they offer not primarily what's good for the environment and the future, but what brings the most profit (can coincide).
-
you are talking about authorities in the future may able to turning off your TV if its not essential for you, DO you realize even now they already controlling you through price? there is no such thing as free users, especially regarding power. i am glad they invent this things as more or less we are able to keep our tabs on electricity, and maybe if million of people doing this maybe our scarcity on power supply will be far off from our time.
-
your comment doesn't make any sense at all. At least the spelling is right as far as I can see it from here
-
if there are billion of people like you on earth, then the earth will be destroyed in no time at all, thank god there are less than 50 of you
-
There may be good applications of this, but I sure as hell don't want Sony of all people controlling my outlets. Paranoid control freaks as they are, they'd probably mandate Sony power adapters for everything.
