By choosing a studio that measures just 12 feet by 7 feet, Felice Cohen can afford to live in Manhattan's Upper West Side where apartments rent for an average of $3,600 per month. She pays just over $700 for her 90-square-foot microstudio. After a bit of adjustment she now loves living smaller, simpler and cozier. Wow. This is the perfect tiny NYC apartment. #1 - The rent is a huge bargain. #2 - tiny in all the right places, the bathroom should be that tiny, the loft ceiling height perfect. #3 - high ceiling makes everything less claustrophobic. #4 - the rectangular shape allows for some floorspace to stretch out and do some exercises. #5 - excellent location, makes sense to create the tiny apt. there where transpotation, park, and the best the city has to offer is right nearby. I would have wanted to spend more on the shelving to make is look nicer and hide the folded t-shirts and other clothing. What you did to create the desk nook though looks very functional and you did it on a low budget.

fuck that pathetic way of living just to be able to say "i live in manhattan"
-
Where I live I pay $650, pay for electric and heat for a three bedroom, two story apartment that's modern...that amount is nuts for such a small space.
-
I'm having anxiety just by watching her getting into bed
-
Pure absurdity what they pay to live there in nyc. can get a 5 bedroom house in most suburban or rural areas.
-
is it really worth it living in a tuna can just so that you can say that you're from manhattan....
-
Trump's toilet is bigger than this apartment.
-

OK, I'm going to be honest here:
This woman suddenly inspired me to live in a small studio apartment now. I live in a condo with a loft and a master bedroom that is not that big. If I can survive a small condo, then I'm sure I can survive a 90 sq ft apartment as well. Besides, I never needed a big house. ☺ -
This was very helpful. Thank you.

Very cool! What an adventure. :-)

I love small spaces like this. I kind of want to make a "bedroom" out of the storage space under my staircase... just like a little harry potter hide away.

Why people are so dumb and live in these conditions? To pretend to be what theyre not?

i had a place 3 times this size in the village for $900.00 a month east 2nd st @ avenue C in 1999 The only catch was it was a six floor walk up no elevator The two bedroom apartment on the street level of the same building went for $3000 a month and this was in 1999, at the time I remember seeing an apartment like hers on St. Mark's place for $400 a month but you had to share the bathroom
