This is a transfer from an ancient Betamax tape my dad got sometime in the early 1980s. As travel videos go, it's quite wonderful; as the train travels across the countryside, we see some of the beautiful spots in Japan. While the video is somewhat dated (people using a payphone from the train, for example), the scenery and places visited are timeless and is easily one of my favorite travel videos of them all. I apologize for the quality; the tape itself was extremely worn (I played it a lot through the years!) and the Betamax itself was on its last legs. Sadly, the tape actually broke shortly afterwards and so now it lives on soley in digital form.
