4. to all those saying this will "never work",
   
   the structural materials that will likely be used to build this thing already do exist or are in developmental phase as it is. Give it 10 to 20 years and this thing won't look so futuresque. Plus, buildings are getting much taller exponentially faster every passing decade - in just a little over a century the tallest building in the world went from being just over the length of a sprint track to nearly a kilometer tall - and already there are proposed structures to exceed this. additionally, the pyramid shape is actually one of the best designs you could choose for such a massive structure - this thing would be nearly untoucheable by earthquakes and tsnaumis, in theory. and we go off the basis that this thing will be built using the construction techniques that we are so used to seeing today - when really there are already architectural foundations being lay down entirely by 3D Printer-equipped robots. 3D printers are getting exponentially faster and more efficient every passing year. cutting edge ones could lay down material at speeds and distances we can't even imagine.
   
   we may not live to see this thing finished but it is not eons beyond our capabilities.
