Sensoji Temple Night View at Asakusa, Tokyo [iPhone 4S/HD] | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
Sensoji Temple, located in Asakusa, is Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple. It is also known as one of the most popular tourist attractions in Tokyo, which is always crowded with numerous people. It is, however, not as bustling at night as in the daytime. You can quietly enjoy the view of the historical buildings being gloriously illuminated. Although the souvenir shops along the main approach of the temple are closed, it is worth considering to visit there at night. - Shot in 1080p full HD with an iPhone 4S on Dec. 7th, 2012

We might have passed each other at the temple when I was a kid.

I was there 30 years ago, and it looks the same. I was there in daytime and night time, but maybe not as late because there were more people around.
-
Then it might have been some festival day when you visited there. Though the shops are open everyday, you can see many stalls only on festival days, New Year's Eve and New Year's days.
-
yeah, I got very distracted by the many stalls and shops.

Good idea! Note that it's gonna be extremely crowded all the night on New Year's Eve because of numerous worshipers. But it's also very interesting to visit on the day. There are many stalls which serve various foods and drinks.

When I go back to Japan, am going there at night it looks so much peaceful than during the day. I didn't get chance to go all the way to the temple because of the crowd of people.
