Seiko Astron sync progress from Tokyo time to YVR time | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
Got the Astron today... when it arrived it was in Tokyo time. So synced to YVR time. It went well. I did not adjust DST and 2nd timezone but you get the idea. @ 16 secs - Obtained 5 satellites @ 53 secs - " Y " - reception all ok The rest took a bit long because the Astron needed to adjust back to YVR time, date. Overall, It is an uber cool fun watch :-) Battery power seems ok after the time/ date adjustment. Super clear coating is pretty amazing - clean crisp and almost as if there is nothing there! Lume quality good - no as awesome as the Black Monster Ti weight is good not too light I guess because of its 47mm size and 16.5mm thickness

but when was the last time you adjusted the rolex
-
SPOILER ALERT!!! it shows the correct time at the end
-
I like the Rolex timepiece better.
-
It is not that big actually...
-
This seems very good to the point to change my beloved TAG Carrera, but I'm afraid it's too big with a 48mm bezel !?
-
I never adjusted the local time manually...you can google for Astron manual and read through it... it had a daily auto sync fucntion so the Astron is always accurate.
-
I know this is cool but..... How hard is it to check local time, pull the crown, and adjust yourself??
-
I would too like to know which dealer you purchased from? :)
-
Hi Peter... Did you get the chance to watch the full video? The date change at approx 2:19
-
Hmmm.. what about the date? It shows 3 while the Rolex shows 2. Do you have to set that manually too?
-
Ronnie... check your message...
-
May I ask which dealer you purchased the SAST007 from? Was it an online dealer? Thanks!

DST has to be set manually as this information is not part of the satellite's signal. Conventional terrestrial radio controlled watches do have the capability to process DST as this info is encoded in the signal. WWVB and DCF-77 broadcasts include DST information
-
Yes... dst set manually.

Does the dst have to be set manually then I take it? Is it not part of the gps time signal?
