@Einriech There are many free to air channels available in North America on satellites such as Galaxy 10R, AMC4, Galaxy 19, AMC3, etc. These are from the USA and from around the world. See Lyngsat com for a listing of what is available. Note that these lists can become out of date quickly as frequencies and channels change often. With an FTA system you can only watch the unscrambled clear channels. Other scrambled channels are not free and require a subscription from their provider.
-
@Einriech The channels you can view with this system are not your typical channels that you get with your fee based cable tv or satellite tv. Free To Air (FTA) channels are digital channels that are not encrypted by the service provider and require no subscription or monthly payment. They are provided free of charge by the provider and are perfectly legal to receive with an FTA receiver.

@Einriech ALL of us are feeling the effects of our declining economy these past several months. As a result, we are trying to decrease our spending wherever possible, yet keep the items in our life we feel necessary. We all enjoy watching TV as entertainment in our daily life, as do our children. WE HAVE A GREAT SOLUTION FOR YOU TO CONTINUE TO WATCH TV, YET NOT HAVE TO PAY ANY MONTHLY FEES FOR THAT SERVICE. IT IS FTA (FREE TO AIR) SATELLITE PROGRAMS.

Will this receiver work with both C and Ku band dishes? It looks good and as for Ku band it wouldn't be any good to buy it since most of the local channels are on C band. I am considering buying a C band dish set from you all and that is why I am asking.
