I took this film during the last year I stayed in Japan. Japanese workers leave their offices and relax in various ways of their hectic life. See my other 1090 clips by searching YouTube with 'michael rogge' Find my photo's here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/12350343@N04/ Website 'Man and the Unknown' http://wichm.home.xs4all.nl/

so in the 60s people were enjoying pachinko while standing

パチンコシーンは確かに東京とも言えそうだが、「東急観光バス案内所」ぐらいしか断定できない。
むしろ冒頭の地下鉄や大相撲とか相当な確率で大阪でのシーンがある。 -
面白いロゲサマ。

I think its a Osaka`s landscape. We can find name of Asahi broadcasting comapny on TVcamera.
thats a Osaka`s broadcaster`s name. -
Loved the pachinko parlors in the 50's when I was there. We even brought a game back with us,

Fascinating material! Interesting how the pachinko players are standing up and manually feeding the ball bearings in. People sit down and that's automated now. Recently, it's becoming very difficult to take this type of material by the way - the television stations generally blot out people's faces these days. The thinking is that if anyone's face can be recognized, they might sue? Is it getting like that outside Japan as well?
-
なるほど。 「あれは、何線だろう?」と思って...
-
Yes, I took it. It was broadcast for Dutch television in 1963.
-
HI, Please don't respond to that last question, I was using someone elses account! Can you let me know where you got this footage? thanks! Diana

-
@Taskforcedenny . As I cannot read Japanese characters it may have escaped my attention.
-
Great collection! I was born in 1961 and its a great experience to see the Japan I was born into. Films from Hong Kong, Macau were also great.
-
I have added Japanese to many of my clips. Also Chinese to my clips of Hong Kong. Not that it makes much difference in viewing. But I will add some characters to this clip as well with the aid of Google translator.

Thank you, thank you Mr Rogge... Michael. !!! It must be a very great time.
-
Thanks. I get from Japan only 10% or less visitors than from HK for some reason, although I have a great number of clips of the Showa era on YouTube.
