"The concept of this car came from the fact that younger people nowadays are losing interest in cars, so we wanted to propose a new type of car. For younger people recently, they place the most value in things such as friends, mobile phones, games and varied personal experiences doing a wide range of things. Then we thought how do we implement these concepts in a car, so we started by thinking that young people consider their friends important, so we're giving them equal seating space and similarly-designed seats and surround them in a large cabin so they can spend their time comfortably." The exterior combines an open upper cabin area with a rugged lower body, with tires placed in the corners of the vehicle, maximizing interior space and enhancing stability. There is also a three-section removable roof panel which can be stored in the trunk. The four-seater is powered by a turbocharged direct injection gas engine linked to Nissan's proprietary CVT (continuously variable transmission) called Extronic CVT. The Round Box has an interactive system called Play Catch, which allows the driver and other passengers to share driving information as well as entertainment information. As the navigation screen in the instrument panel is linked to the touch screen in the center of the vehicle, passengers can search for shops or restaurants and send the driving route and instructions to the drivers monitor. The Around View Monitor uses wide-angle cameras mounted on the exterior to give the driver a bird's-eye view of the outside of the vehicle. The Round Box is 3.65 meters long, 1.75 meters wide, 1.53 meters tall, and its wheel base is 2.43 meters.
