To see our latest film before it's on YouTube: http://www.carfection.com Subscribe for more XCAR videos: http://bit.ly/U9XDKc With aggressive muscle styling on the outside and a video game inspired interior the Nissan GT-R is a supercar for the Playstation generation. With design based on a Manga robot series and a cabin loaded with tech designed by the creators of the Gran Turismo video games the Nissan GT-R couldn't be more Japanese if it tried. This 1750 Kg lump of muscle will set you back around £75,000 but boasts performance of a car over twice that. The GT-R will get you to 62 mph in under 3 seconds if you use launch control and will almost hit 200 mph if you keep your foot down. It gets its power from a 3.8 litre turbocharged V6 kicking out 542 bhp. You might be forgiven for thinking the super advanced four wheel drive system and the 6-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox gearbox take some of the skill out of performance driving, and to a certain extent that is true, but when you can leave virtually any Italian or German purebred in the dust you won't hear any arguments from us. The gadgetry inside will make playstation owners feel right at home with virtual digital dials displaying g-force, engine temperature, boost levels and a host of other user selectable gauges. There's even an option to have a clock. The GT-R may do a lot of the thinking for you but it's one hell of a ride. For better or worse it gives you the confidence to push it harder and harder and the playstation generation interior may just let you forget you're in an actual car and put you in the mindset of a gamer thrashing a cluster of pixels around a make believe track. The GT-R innards recently found themselves into a Nissan Juke and turned that from a fancy Micra into one of the most talked about cars of the year. Look out for our piece on that soon but in the mean time check out our trip to Tokyo and our ride in the R35 Egoist variant of the GT-R, and exclusive model only sold in Japan.
