N.Hoolywood Menswear Spring/Summer 2016/2017 New York. So far there had been no shortage of bomber jackets, jogger pants and anoraks on the New York runways and although N.Hoolywood designer Daisuke Obana offered up these active-influenced items, his take on the pieces felt less conventional. He achieved this by utilizing fluid fabrics, painterly abstract prints and typography from Tokyo-based calligrapher Mikitype. Obana’s anorak had a high, slightly draped neck and was free from any zippers or fasteners. His jogger pant was made from suit material and styled with a relaxed, matching blazer. Bomber jackets, sweatshirts and hoodies were embellished with Mikitype’s calligraphy, which straddled nicely a line between romantic and street.
