Living in Japan: International Schools and Circles | The English World of TOKYO | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
Japan is full of interesting people who speak more than just Japanese -- whether it's foreigners from abroad, Japanese people brought up in an English environment, Hafu/halfies, Kikoku Shijo (Japanese people who studied abroad), or whatever, it's a really cool place for an international (but Japanese) experience. It's hard to explain, but Tokyo is huge, and small at the same time. If you speak English and start hanging around "international" circles, you'll eventually start to meet the same people and get on the inside. ►►►►► Follow Max! Thanks a lot of this piece of information! I'm attending Sophia this fall and this really gave me a nice idea of what to expect. I'm half black/asian and grew up in Fukuoka. Keep it up. Subbed

Lol I speak English and am in Tokyo and yet most people don't know me.

I am going to Keio University this september and I was just wondering if there were any good websites or groups I could join that will help me through this process. I am half-japanese, who's lived in NJ her whole life. It's kind of scary to think about and I don't know how to go about finding dorms or search things about what to expect. It's all kind of crazy at the moment. Anything would be a major help.

Really awesome video! Hafu represent! It's so cool how you went to Tokyo for school! It didn't even occur to me to apply for a school in Japan; wish I did aha. This is a bit off topic from the video but I was wondering what your opinion is on "Jvlogers" and/or nonJapanese people appropriating Japanese culture on YouTube? Lately I've been seeing a lot of these "Jvolgers" (most of the time who are not of Japanese descent) make very problematic videos about Japan and who appropriate the culture. It makes me want to shake them and say "you're not even Japanese!"
Anyway, I'm so glad the Hafu community on YouTube is growing ^^ can't wait for your next video! -
Do you have a dual citizenship? p.s you always know how to make me laugh :) i love your videos
-
Max, when will you be in Japan? I'm planning a trip in late October! Would love to meet you!

Great video as always and I found it kind of funny since I am about to go study abroad in Japan in 10 days :D

Yo +Max Tatsuro Capo I totally didn't know anything about international schools in Japan. I found the last video and this one really interesting!
I wish I had known that going to an international college abroad was even an option. Keep talking about it, for sure! There might be kids who are 13-16 who will change their lives in order to enroll in a college in Tokyo. -
I'm half Japanese too and find your topics really interesting, can you recommend any other channels with "halfies" ? :)
-
Yey!xD

Happy birthday to "you"!

Sorry this video was late this week. Finalizing arrangements for my trip to Japan in a couple months, and also, got too lazy looking forward to my birthday which was on the 7th! Happy bday to me, haha.
