I would never have the courage to sketch on camera. As it is, I feel I need to burn my sketches and dispose of the ashes in secret locations. I obviously need to work on my self-consciousness. So kudos to you. Kudos also for use of the word "wizened."
I am going to Japan (Kyoto and Tokyo) in 3 months. Can you buy a Nakaya "off the shelf"? I want one, but I won't be there long enough to wait for it to be built from scratch.
