Kisai Quasar is available exclusively from: http://www.tokyoflash.com/en/watches/kisai/quasar Kisai Quasar combines the simplicity of a digital watch with a geometric, patterned display that camouflages time. Featuring date & alarm mode, stop watch, animation and EL backlight, Kisai Quasar was originally a concept on the Tokyoflash Design Studio Blog. Kisai Quasar offers three user-selectable time display modes, explained below. For each mode, you can choose 12 or 24 hour clock. Number Mode presents the time in regular digits. Pattern Mode camouflages the digits in a web of lines that follow the shape of the numbers. Animation Mode pulsates between these modes creating an eye-catching zoom effect. The date is shown in the same way as the time, by pressing the lower button and you can choose whether the date is show as DD:MM or MM:DD in the settings. The watch also has an alarm mode, a stop watch and EL backlighting to illuminate the display at night. Kisai Quasar is a small watch design that is comfortable to wear for both men and women. Made from stainless steel with a sleek polished finish, choose from all black or silver with a black accent in the strap. Framed by mineral crystal glass, Kisai Quasar comes with a vibrant blue, red, green or mirrored display. Kisai Quasar has an adjustable strap making it suitable for small and large wrists and uses a standard CR2025 watch battery which will last at least 12 months and can easily be replaced. Each part of Kisai Quasar has been individually designed and manufactured, including the case, strap and uniquely programmed display. Like all watches from Tokyoflash Japan it is a limited edition design, meaning that it is guaranteed to be a watch that not many other people own. ==================== In February 2010, Tokyoflash Japan opened its Design Studio Blog to showcase concept designs and request ideas for new watch designs from fans. The idea for Kisai Quasar was submitted by László Scheffer from Hungary. Blog reader & watch designer László Scheffer says: I bought my first watch from Tokyoflash back in 2005 (a Twelve 5-9 to be exact). I really liked the idea that a watch is not just a chronometer anymore, but something that can worn as jewellery, too. When I found out in October 2010 that designs and concepts can be submitted to the Tokyoflash Design Studio Blog, I felt that my time had come. The reception that the first design I submitted received made me really happy and ever since then designing watches has become one of my hobbies. I feel thrilled and honoured that my Quasar design was chosen for production! I truly wish that everyone who plans to get this watch feels the same joy wearing it as I felt designing it! I would like to say thank you to Tokyoflash for the development and production, to my wife for her patience, to all my friends for their encouragement and to the readers for their comments and sharing my work with others! ==================== Music: 'Lift Off' by Jahzzar. http://www.jamendo.com/en/track/1052773/lift-off

I would definitely go for an LED model shown at 01:05. Not really a fan of the LCD though. Are there any plans for LED versions?

We make unusual watches, so you have to expect something a little bit different to start with. For every watch we make some people say its too easy, some people say its too hard. Its just a matter of finding something that appeals to you.

I'm a practical person, I like things that are very functional, but I can understand the desire for flashy/cool looking things. I'm not saying this is impossible to read, just that this is needlessly complex (especially the pattern and flashing modes) making something which takes a fraction of a second on an analogue watch take several seconds on this. It's just a matter of your eyes finding the right bit, which isn't as easy it could be :\
-
nope. If you buy tokyoflash watches you a) want to be special and have a watch cause it looks cool (much like you buy a huge car cause it´s cool, not cause you need it) b) you will likely buy a watch you have figured out how to read ,-)

Looks pretty cool, but in terms of actually reading the time it's completely impractical. The idea of a watch is to show the time at a glance, not take 20 seconds working out what number each symbol is meant to be :\

Hello such my name is Jonathan Ramos while asking texted them the opportunity for them to send me a couple of watches for the channel and the audience, then I had about between 1000 and 1500 subscribers to which I replied that when he reached 3000 subscribers would agree with taste, well today I reached that number of subscribers, with approximately in the last weeks of 20 to 70 daily subscribers, a video with almost 30,000 views and other details , really hope you can give me a chance. Regards

This proves that: If you Can't make something useful ... just make anything, some idiot will buy it.
-
Why have to make it so complex?
