Born in Seoul in 1994, Bokyung Byun began playing at six, and by her teen years had won competitions held by the Korea Guitar Association, the Embassy of Spain, and the Music Association of Korea. She went on to take top prizes at the Vienna Forum Guitar International and the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA). Her special Asia Week program includes Capricho Árabe (Francisco Tárrega); Fuge and Allegro from BWV998 (J. S. Bach); Fantasie Hongroise (J. K. Mertz); Un Sueño en la Floresta (A. B. Mangoré); Zapateado from Tres Piezas Españolas (J. Rodrigo); Koyunbaba (C. Domeniconi); and Fuoco from Libra Sonatine (R. Dyens). New York City's renowned Juilliard School seeks to provide the highest caliber of artistic education for gifted musicians, dancers and actors from around the world, so that they may achieve their fullest potential as artists, leaders and global citizens. Juilliard President Joseph Polisi notes that "the transforming role of Juilliard is to help talented students harness their dedication to become communicative artists, imbued with passion and understanding to reach within themselves to affect and move audiences. It is this process that prepares our students for a life in the arts." The Korea Society is proud to present its second season of Julliard@TKS, with an eye to Korea, as its students represent the largest single international contingent enrolled at Juilliard. Through this series, The Korea Society highlights K-Classical as a leading cultural product and salutes Korea as a center of excellence for the classical arts. Produced, Directed, and Edited by Peter Stuehmke.

Another awkward guitarist who can't connect with the audience and just drills the pieces and doesn't understand the music. The Dyens piece was missing all the flavour of the rhythms and dissonances. It didn't even feel that she was playing music, it felt as if she was just doing homework.. And she has to read from a piece of paper to talk about a piece that she has played for like 8 years? Come on...Then again her technique is impressive and I respect that.

Day by day I float my paper boats one by one down the running stream.
In bid black letters I write my name on them and the name of the village where I live.
I hope that someone in some strange land will find them and know who I am.
I load my little boats with shiuli flower from our garden, and hope that these blooms of the dawn will be carried safely to land in the night.
I launch my paper boats and look up into the sky and see the little clouds setting thee white bulging sails.
I know not what playmate of mine in the sky sends them down the air to race with my boats!
When night comes I bury my face in my arms and dream that my paper boats float on and on under the midnight stars.
The fairies of sleep are sailing in them, and the lading is their baskets full of dreams. -
How many hours that she practice? Any particular composer she prefers????

A master piece written by Barrios perfectly executed. No just anyone can play his music and she proved her worth. My respects and admirations.
