일본서도 지카 감염자 확인…중남미 유행 이후 처음 Japan has confirmed its first case of Zika virus in the country. According to the Japan's Health Ministry on Thursday, the mosquito-borne virus was detected in a teenage male from Kanagawa prefecture near Tokyo, who had recently visited Brazil. The ministry added that the teen, who returned to Japan on Monday, developed a fever and rash while in Brazil or on his way home. A ministry official said there are no fears of the virus spreading in Japan because mosquitoes are dormant in winter. Three people in Japan were diagnosed with the Zika virus in 2013 and 2014 after returning from Bora Bora and Thailand.
