Japanese Innovation- Waitress(less) Food Delievery System- Kaiten Zushi at Narita Airport | Tokyo

Japan Trip 2011, Day 6, (01/21/11) Narita Airport, the port of entry for most foreigners to Japan has a restaurant chain, Misaki-kou Restaurant, that serves the Japanese signature dish, nigiri zushi (raw pieces of fish on top of small balls of vinegar-flavored rice). Misaki, Kanagawa is the home of tuna in Japan and was recently featured on the Travel Channel's, "Bizzare Foods". This particular restaurant has a second conveyor below the main one that circulates cups, dipping places, tea bags and wasabi (Japanese-styled grated horseradish). Customers select their items as they rotate by and are charged by the type of plate the food is set on. This system allows a foreigner like me to enjoy delicious food without having to converse and allows the establishment a reduction in staff since the conveyor brings the food to the customer.

@hobbies168 Prices range from US$1 to US$5 per plate consisting of two pieces of sushi.
-
The prices in Japan area about the same as the prices in the US. Quality is the difference.

IN PHILLY WE CALL THAT A HORN AND HARDART'S, SINCE THE 194O'S

The size of the Sushi seems rather standard, but I'm sure the price is much less than in other countries like the US. Good video.

Wow those pieces are HUGE! It looks pretty high quality for an airport sushi joint. I'll have to look this place up next time I'm there. Last time I had a few hours at Narita I was stuck eating at your standard airport-noodle shop, not good at all.
