I'm going to tell you a secret here, Rysouke doesn't actually like sushi (gasp!). Well, at least not as much as everything thinks he "should," because he's Japanese. Sushiro is one of the best "affordable" sushi restaurants in Tokyo, so we often take friends visiting from the States or other guests there. Before he married me, Ryosuke would probably grab sushi at a rotator belt place once a year. Maybe. Now we go once every two months with guests :) There is this stereotype that all Japanese people eat sushi all the time - and it's just not true. Or at least, that's my experience. A word of advice a Japanese student once told me if you eat cheese with wasabi it will not kill the flavor but will affect the heat i tried this and it is true.

Fun fact: unlike chilli peppers, you can actually wash wasabi down with water.

I hit the wall in Japan on sashimi too much raw fish. Sushi was not a big thing. Tonkatsu, Takoyaki & BBQ.

I love the sushi-go-round(what US sailors call them) places. Would put down 20 - 25 plates, so good.

I miss the real wasabi taste. Here I can't find real wasabi :(. They only sell this green paste (horseradish + green color) xD

I suffer through dairy, too. lol But it's almost always worth it. Except when it's not. Then it sucks. lol

That looks like really good sushi compared to most I've tried in the UK (not surprising I suppose!). I would eat there every day if i could!

My dad once offered to give me a dollar to eat a grape sized gob of wasabi. After I did that I now don't mind wasabi.

That eel looks gaf! I love wasabi! They have wasabi and ginger almonds(not even really wasabi though, its horseradish, still good).
