It's actually better to get the Yen over in Japan than in the US now. You get more Yen for your money. Exchange is terrible in the US.

Hello. I am heading to Japan in a couple months, and I just wanted to ask if the capitol one bank debit card use at 7-Elevens in Japan is still a valid option for exchanging money. I know there were some issues with it in the past, and I am having trouble getting a straight answer. If it isn't a valid option, do you have another recommendation that gets you the most for your money? I know you mentioned bank debit cards in your video, but I wanted to make sure Capitol One is a good card to use. :) Thanks again! And great videos, super informative and helpful. :)

Japan currency is lower than dollar, do this mean everything in Japan is very cheap compare to other countries?

I was in Germany one time and I thought I had more Euros in my wallet, but I had only about 3 Euros and behind them I had an American 50 dollar bill, for emergencies. I had bought or tried to buy a beer and a pretzel at a large brewery and there were a lot of people behind me in line, also thirsty! No credit cards accepted! The bill came out to 4.50 Euros. So, I did the only thing a rude American would do, I yelled out" Who has change for an American 50 dollar bill?" I got a few shocked looks and a few laughs. A well dressed German man came over and said I will take it, and he glared at me and asked is it real? A couple of his friends came over and assured him it was real and I told him yes, it was real. He handed over 50 Euros. I tried to tell him in my poor German that the exchange rate was not exact, and that was too many Euros for a 50 American. At that point in time, I think the exchange rate was 1 Euro equaled 75 cents American. He said he did not care, he had never had a 50 dollar American bill before and that he was going to keep it anyway, something to show his kids and friends. I said OK and we shook hands and I got my beer and pretzel!
