Only place I went to in Shinjuku was the Irish bar. Yup, I travelled from Northern Ireland to Tokyo, and visited an Irish bar. It's kind of what we do! Guinness was great though.
Oh, and the Sega arcade, I went there a LOT!.... -

Great video! I'm going to Tokyo in october with my gf and we are staying in shinjuku. How good do you have to know japanese to go to those alley and order food? Do they take kindly to foreigners? Thanks

Would you recommend a family with older adult children stay in a hotel in Shinjuku or Shibuya ? It's our first time in Tokyo and trying to find a area that would be convenient to see everything and have something to do at night.

私の住む新宿に来ていただいてありがとうございます。新宿区歌舞伎町は眠らない街で有名ですが日本で一番汚い街です。会社勤めのサラリーマンなどが日頃のストレスを歓楽街で発散し、泥酔のうえゴミなどを道端に捨ててしまいます。そこから拡散してゴミが増えてしまうんです。これについては日本人として観光に訪れてくれる方々の目に映れば日本は清潔じゃないと思われても仕方がないことです。新宿区を訪れてくれる方々には少しでも良い思い出や良き経験として欲しいので私はお酒は程々にしています。

...oh man such memories...when i used to go on tour with my dad's work, the company always booked him/us into keio plaza while in tokyo...the place sure has changed alot since the late 80's but still have fond memories from there...
