During a disaster whether small or large, your world shrinks to your immediate surroundings whether you are in danger or not,its what you and others around you are experiencing that becomes important, its a survival instinct, plus everyone reacts differently to moments of high stress, some laugh some get hysterical some are calm, its only later that the larger impact of what has happened beyond your immediate surroundings becomes your focus,it doesn't mean you don't care.

@source11000 this was 500km away from the centre of the quake. it was much worse in sendai. and yes, japanese people are use to a lot of earthquakes and they build very solid buildings.

I am inpress that with such a big earthquake only a few things felt on the floor. Japan people are the best to built building! If it would not have been of the Tsunami, they would have go through this with a minimum damage. My prayers are with you Japan people not much more I could do for you guys right now, but sincerely pray you!

Guys , when I took this video, I had no clue what was going on, it was scary and the best thing we could have done at that moment was not to panic, keep the sprit and laugh about it. So please donot judge us. my thought and prayers are with people of Sendai and their affected families in this difficult times.
